How Do I Track Student Work?

Understanding Scrible's Analytics Pages and Assignment Settings

Scrible’s Educator Dashboard offers three different analytics pages to help you track student progress, class performance, and proof of process for each assignment. These pages provide detailed insights, but the data you see depends on the assignment settings you choose during the creation process. Let’s break down each analytics page and how your assignment setup influences the metrics.

The Three Analytics Pages

  1. Student Progress Page
This page provides a detailed view of each student's progress. You’ll be able to see how much time they’ve spent on various assignment tasks, such as researching, annotating, outlining, and writing. You can also review the specific sources they've added and the work they’ve submitted.

  2. Class Progress Page
This page offers a high-level overview of your entire class’s progress. It tracks metrics such as how many students have met source requirements, how far along they are in their papers, and how much time students have collectively spent on each part of the assignment (e.g., research, analysis, writing).

  3. Proof of Process Page
The proof of process data shows a breakdown of time spent on each key stage of the assignment, helping you verify that students are engaging with their work. This includes:

    •       Research - Time spent adding and managing sources.
    •       Analysis - Time spent annotating sources.
    •       Synthesis - Time spent organizing ideas using the outline feature.
    •       Writing - Time spent drafting and refining their paper.

Each of these pages pulls its data from the settings and requirements you establish when creating the assignment.

By understanding the analytics pages and how assignment settings influence the data you see, you can better monitor student progress and provide tailored feedback. Whether you’re tracking overall class progress or digging into individual student performance, Scrible’s tools offer valuable insights to support effective teaching and learning.
