How to Use the Feedback Feature

Scrible's feedback feature is a dynamic tool that fosters effective communication between educators and students. By leveraging this evergreen messaging system, educators can offer timely, personalized feedback and guidance, directly influencing students' research and writing processes. Similarly, students can proactively engage with educators, seeking clarifications and assistance or sharing updates on their assignments. This helpful article will guide you through the functionalities of the feedback feature, ensuring both educators and students can maximize its benefits for an enriched learning experience.

For Educators:

Getting Started with Feedback:

• Accessing Assignments: Navigate to the Assignments Tab, then click the assignment you wish to review. Click the Student Progress tab. You will find each student's name, which links to their account and assignments. Click the name of the student you wish to communicate with to open their library. From here, you'll find the option to initiate or continue a feedback conversation.
• Initiating Feedback: You will see the icon in the panel on the left. Here, you can initiate a new conversation by clicking the New Message button.
• Feedback for Categories: You can leave feedback for a specific part of the writing process by either selecting the appropriate tab in the main window (Sources, Annotations, bibliography, Outline, Papers, or All) or by clicking the kebab menu to change your viewing options or open previous exchanges.  You can type your comments, suggestions, or questions about the student's work here.

• Date and Time Stamps: Every message you send is automatically date and time-stamped, ensuring a clear record of the communication timeline.
• Providing Structured Guidance: Use the feedback feature to offer structured advice, point out areas for improvement, or commend students on their progress.

Best Practices for Educators:

• Be Prompt: Regularly check for student queries or updates, providing timely responses to facilitate continuous learning.
• Be Specific: Offer clear, actionable feedback that students can apply directly to enhance their research or writing.
• Encourage Interaction: Use the feedback feature to motivate students to discuss their challenges and achievements.

For Students:

Engaging with Educators:

• Seeking Clarification: If you're unsure about assignment instructions or specific expectations, use the feedback feature to ask your educator for clarification.
• Requesting Assistance: Have you encountered a research roadblock or writing dilemma? Contact your educator for targeted advice and support.
• Sharing Progress: Keep your educator informed of your progress, especially if you've implemented previous feedback or have made significant advancements in your assignment.
