How do I print my annotations?
We have initial support for print annotations on webpages. Just print like you normally would (noting browser specific instructions below)
- Chrome and Safari: Printing annotations should work without any changes
- Firefox: In the print dialog, select the options tab and select printing background colors
- Internet Explorer: Click the Tools button and choose Print->Page Setup. Under Paper options you should see a checkbox for "Print Background Colors and Images" - ensure this is checked. (NOTE: this is a global setting, so it will affect all pages you print, so could use up a lot of color ink if you leave it enabled, particularly on pages with full background images, etc)
The quality of the printed page will vary depending on how printer friendly the site was before the annotations. If you think you might want to print a page with your annotations, before starting to annotate, see if the site offers a "Print" version of the page. Some sites layouts don't print very well, and once you've started annotating you normally won't be able to switch to a printable view. This often removes navigation bars, sidebars, and unrelated content you probably didn't care to have print anyway.
For your comments, we'll drop a numbered anchor inline in the text where the comment started and all comment threads are appended to the end of the page with their corresponding number.
Please note that at this time we do not offer printing support for annotations on PDFs.
